'The Artist' Leads the Way at Spirit Awards, Adam Sandler Sets New Razzie Award Nominations Record

Posted by Derrick Deane on February 26, 2012

The Artist continues its awards run which culminates at tonight's Academy Awards. The black and white silent movie took home four awards at last night's Independent Spirit Awards, including best feature and best director.

Acting awards went to Jean Dujardin (The Artist), Michelle Williams (My Week With Marilyn), Christopher Plummer (Beginners) and Shailene Woodley (The Descendents). Dujardin and Plummer are heavy favorites in their respective categories for tonight's Academy Awards. Williams' win sets up a potential upset over the heavily favorite Viola Davis (The Help).
